Sangre de Cristo Hospice was founded in the mid
1970s when a small group of care givers working at the
State Hospital in Pueblo chose to be a part of this new idea
of health care called hospice. Later that group moved into
the cities hospitals, and in 1984 became a free standing
entity. Since that time Sangre de Cristo Hospice has grown
to service more than 1000 patients per year in 6 counties of
Southern Colorado with offices in Pueblo, Canon City and
Walsenburg.
